I think they almost always take him off in 1-2 yards to the goal situations.

FIFA had zero respect since the Blatter presidency.
Maybe in the US it had a different trajectory because it started from a very lower point compared to Europe, Asia etc.

I wouldn’t say he never cared about that record. Once he got injured a couple years ago and stayed in to drain a 3 to keep the streak for example.
