The news organization that once was the home of Edward Murrow, Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather is now where you can see a hack interview a grifter. Billionaires ruin everything.

The anxiety swings on a daily basis. The stock market is a nervous nellie. 😱

If we deported all overweight white guys with beards, rents would drop precipitously.

By "lower cost products" he means plans that don't accept people with preexisting conditions and kick you out if you get sick. Like in the good old times (before the ACA).

Next he'll "pardon" Bolsonaro and demand from Brazil to release him.

Just FYI, "Withheld for Privacy ehf" in Iceland is just Namecheap's standard privacy service that is used for every domain that has Whois privacy enabled (which is the default).

What's your alternative? Back to the days when tens of millions were unable to get any insurance at all?

No, it's not perfect. It was also sabotaged under the first Trump administration (e.g. by no longer enforcing the individual mandate). The Reps clearly have no interest in solving its issues.
December 15, 2025 at 4:53 AM
The problem is that Republicans aren't interested in improving or replacing it. They just want to repeal it and return to the good old days, where insurance companies could deny or drop unprofitable folks (i.e. ones that actually require care).

Ten years ago he promised "I alone can fix it".

He has now spent almost 5 years in office.

Nothing has been fixed. Much has gotten way worse.

Yeah, consolidation is completely unheard of in "free markets". 🙄

Also, funny how traditional Medicare both works better and has lower cost than the private alternatives (including the scam called "Medicare Advantage").

Exactly

Again I have to ask what problem is what he proposes supposed to solve?

Also, actually around 7% of Americans have ACA coverage, and it's rapidly rising.

Ah, that makes sense. 👍

I'm wondering: how is it possible that both the moon and earth can produce "ring of fire" eclipses for each other, given the size disparity? 🤔
December 12, 2025 at 8:33 PM
So effectively the government would borrow money and instead of paying interest would get paid? 🤔
December 12, 2025 at 8:22 PM
"the American people don't want government-run health care"

Personally I can't wait until I can get away from all the BS the insurance companies are pulling (pre-authorizations, denials, restricted networks, complexity, "dead pools" etc.) and sign up for traditional Medicare.

WTH is happening to this country.

Why did nobody ask her where her numbers are coming from? As of today the BLS has not published any numbers after the September ones cited by the reporter.

That's nice. But in reality we have only seen police help the ICE thugs instead of protecting citizens.

Once Trump has ensured that his pals the Ellisons get control of CNN, this Borelli guy and Scott Jennings will become news anchors.
December 11, 2025 at 6:37 AM
This is insane.
December 11, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Oh yeah, if I get sick I have nothing else on my mind than shopping around for the cheapest provider.
December 11, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Let me guess: you have some gold-plated plan and concierge doctors? Most of us already live in the world you describe (PCP referrals required, top providers "out of network" etc.), healthcare premiums and cost-sharing are exploding, all while the health insurance companies rake in record profits.
