anyway here's some natural collection from a gaited horse lol
A dark brown mare after the rain in a very very green pasture. She is in the middle of a canter stride with only here front right foot off the ground. Her topline is flexed, pelvis tilted back slightly, and most of the weight on her hind end. She's on the vertical and her golden mane and tail flow on the wind, even while wet.

Someday I'll make real tutorials instead of DRAW GOOD NOT BAD but for now I'm busy with school and just trying to dispel the idea of a horse hoof being a weird meat can
A blue canvas with purple drawings of hooves split up into "weird" and "natural". The weird side includes a bunch of drawings of mammal limbs ending in an awkward dark, shiny cylinder. The cylinder occasionally has a metal, U shaped horseshoe attached. The bottom is an ambiguous dark circle with no features. I derisively compare it to a plunger. There are many frownie faces. The natural side shows a normal horse's hoof, which has the cushy padded heel bulbs on the back, mostly similar to other mammalian feet, but with a nail covering the toe. It is more square and less tall and rectangular from the front. On the bottom, it's circular with a triangle in the middle coming from the heel bulbs and pointing towards the toe.

The most "legendary" bits I keep hearing people talk up are three piece bauchers with a gentle lift in the middle.
The three piece prevents the bit from hitting the palate with pressure, the baucher alleviates poll pressure, and the rounding over the palate fits the tongue gentler.
A bit called a "CalmBlue Baucher snaffle". It's what I described, a baucher that's neither thick nor thin with a gentle curve made of three pieces.

We have a chestnut mare with a big blaze who has the exact same blanket and a similar story, save she had a good home prior to falling into a bad situation.
Abuse is excused by saying the horse did something bad to "earn it" but the reality is it will happen to ANY of them in the wrong hands.

I think it's really funny that my horse, who has no self awareness and zero concept of vanity, has the kind of hair color human beings pay hundreds of dollars for.

Like she was just born like this she doesn't know anything

Not trimming broodmares' hooves is neglect.

Love getting to hooves actually on time lol
I should probably invest in more hoof mud to get rid of the last of that white line disease but I'm not super worried about it.

Also last photo shows an untrimmed front vs after the trim.

It's slightly asymmetrical but very robust with huge, wide heels. A photo of the same hoof from the side with slight silver feathering. The fever rings that do exist are very very subtle, making it one smooth, continuous surface. There's a bevel around the toe that's barely perceptible in the dirt. A photo of the two front feet, one untrimmed and the other trimmed. The trim one is straighter, at a better angle, and baring most of her weight.

One fun thing about the canter compared to all other gaits is horses will just sometimes grab ass and take the FUCK off twice as fast as you anticipated.

Or maybe just some horses. My mare definitely does this. It seems to me she thinks it's fun. I've also seen her do it out in pasture.

None of our horses are currently laminitic, but, when my personal mare came back from living with my parents for around a year and receiving crappy Nutrena grain daily, she had blood in the white line!
Now she's on Pro Balance and flax with an alfalfa pellet basis and THRIVING
