so this is because plugdata is configured by default to output midi to "Internal GM Synth", which just happens to be somehow broken? fantastic

needed to run an old Pd patch and decided to finally try plugdata. i open the patch, which is a simple MIDI generator with no audio output, and somehow it immediately starts playing a continuous very loud crackly noise. ok

i let the robot vacuum at work out of my sight for five minutes while fixing navigation code. during that time it found a plastic sheet with two cans of black paint on it, caught it in its wheels and dragged it around until some sensor got blocked. luckily the cans didnt open 😅
