I consider myself to be a Ligma male.
Who is this hypothetical person who *doesn't* have an emotional revulsion of injustice?

You don't, in fact, need to objectively weigh the pros and cons of whether injustice is acceptable or not.

If you have humanity, you revile it.

I don't think you're wrong, the specific kind of poverty I'm talking about isn't the majority, it's a minority that I'm sympathetic to, because I've known people from these kinds of places.

You really can turn 18 in parts of this country and have *zero* options. Nowhere to go, no way to get there.

I think "Raiders of the Lost Arc", where the chase starts on horseback and Indy gradually goes from chasing, to heisting, and then fleeing.

It's fucking thrilling *every* time I watch it, and masterfully executed by Spielberg.

We're still living in the fallout of Jim Crow and the Great Migration. We used cheap black labor to build America's industrial might in the heartland, then we sold them all out once they were no longer needed after the cold war.

I *will* say that the military is one of the only escape valves some people have from horrible rural poverty or horrific home situations, and you can't really expect an 18 year old in this environment to understand that they will become a disposable meat puppet in bondage to empire.

It's the reactionary impulse that's inside everyone and has to be fought with empathy, curiosity, and self reflection.

"Blame everyone except the people responsible" because blaming the powerful is scary and dangerous and is really hard to do anything about.
January 17, 2026 at 1:24 PM
That would require actual moral conviction and the ability to lead.

These men have all been amoral cowards since Johnson, who wasn't exactly perfect himself.

Violence done by the state is invisible to these people. That's just microwave background violence.

There's a cynical part of me that wants to take Sun Tzu's advice here, and let the right waste effort and resources pushing this doughy, murdering idiot.

I don't think the hogs like seeing him, actually. He's a great example of the right being victims of their own success.

This is the key to understanding evil...

It's that they don't even believe in virtue. They project their own shitty values and worldview on the rest of us. They always see the virtue of others as performative because that's what *their* virtue is.

The cruelty isn't a side effect.

The cruelty isn't a tragic accident.

The cruelty is the point.

My problem with these videos is just the absolute rage it fills me with that I just can't find a productive place for.

I need to see that grinning fascist fuck get his.

I might get it someday, but it's always too late and not enough.

Would it *kill* these losers just to take a single form moral stance literally ever? JFC.

I don't understand how anyone watched the Daniel Shaver murder without dramatically changing their opinion on police.

I watched another Daniel Shaver murder yesterday, and this time the entire media apparatus is banding together to tell us not to believe our lying eyes.
January 8, 2026 at 11:28 AM
It would honestly be a relief if all we had to worry about was war with Poseiden and a horse in the Senate.

Fuck, I'd support making Incitatus minority leader.

You can make *your* world better, and if nothing else it's good for your mental health and well being.

You never know the impact one act of kindness can have, just like you can never know the impact of one act of cruelly.
January 7, 2026 at 10:09 PM
They told her to leave! You can hear it!

Chilling call back to the Daniel Shaver murder. There was no way for her to comply and that was by design.

If the regime were smart they would feed this guy to the wolves like they did Chauvin.

But the regime isn't smart.

When has literally any blood ever been spilt over Greenland?

Something I really hate about reactionary rhetoric. There's like 5 things in this statement that are gross and piss me off, and I've gotta pick 1 thing to start with and it may not even be the most important lie to refute.
January 7, 2026 at 10:00 PM
I think there is a bizarre lack of imagination in the average person.
January 7, 2026 at 9:53 PM
There's something that really bugs me about people... i don't know if it's human nature, something to do with modernity, or just from being American...

I can read about something happening, and it makes me every bit as furious as seeing it happen does. Why does seeing it make such a difference?
