We’ve had a rough 8-9 months. We had hoped she’d still be fighting the fight with us. Instead, she wrote a book. I guess I’d want to sit back and watch the world burn a bit, too. But it still stings.

Yes, except we should absolutely know what our coworkers are making. Employers don’t want you to know so they can pay women less. Know what those boys are making so you can demand your worth. Or join your union so they can demand your worth for you. Just your friendly Labor Day PSA.

Start teaching her about consent now. She doesn’t owe anyone a hug. She doesn’t have to say hi to Grandma. A firm “I said no thank you” is a powerful tool for a three-nager. Polite, but firm.
