Heyo chat. Last year, I made an extra account on twt for Media Thread purposes. That was fun, but I'm not on that site anymore + threads easily gunk up my media tab.

So I've made this acc to basically track what I play/watch/read/etc. Each thing will be its own post. Sometimes I'll QRT to main.
I'm in Love with the Villainess screencap of Misha Jur saying "Are you what they call "gay"?"

Again, I know some people have honest, if a bit misguided intentions with that discussion. But I digress.

Point of the matter, chill out a little. You get one life, don't spend so much of it chastising the works of people who're trying to alleviate the tension in the real world.
pureparimedia.bsky.social
And on the topic of fanservice stuff I guess, I understand having a personal problem, sure. But if you're one of those people who say anything like that in ANY media is bad, you're a fascist, full stop. In this age where censorship of sexual expression is a real concern, you are not fucking helping.

Sometimes a story has a pretty explicit, clear message to push by getting a little racy with the boundaries of gender, race, orientation, etc. It's not all one thing or another, peeps.

Ultimately I just think stories are more fascinating and introspective of their authors when they're a bit messy.
pureparimedia.bsky.social
Because of that, I can't bring myself to get up in arms whenever the fiction doesn't match my exact politics.

Of course, it's a different story when talking about stories that are pretty clearly and heinously right-wing. But I ain't talkin about that right now.
pureparimedia.bsky.social
With regards to those smaller things, maybe the author had a deeper meaning to what they were doing, maybe it was unintentional.

At the end of the day, you do not know the people who make these stories. The experiences they've had, which have shaped what they make.
pureparimedia.bsky.social
Would never imply all arguments are invalid, of course most are valid. But I feel like certain people just veer too much in trying to raise hell and call out, when they'd sound more Normal if they left well enough alone.
pureparimedia.bsky.social
Been thinking about how to phrase this but there really is no perfect way to do so, so fuck it.

Some of y'all take the politics of your fiction just a bit too seriously. Like there's genuine complaints and then there's just picking at the tiniest little thing and calling the author a 'sexist hack'.

I will say, for a survival horror game the "survival" aspect definitely felt like it was coasting throughout the majority of the game. As long as you're decently aware of your surroundings it won't be too much trouble.

Crow Country

Good, nice horror fun. Cute little tribute to what came before while standing on its own two legs with a pretty neat narrative. Need to replay it at a later date though. I've been in a funk all day so I probably didn't click with it as much as I should have.

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

THE BITCHES ARE BAAAACK
Another revival sticks the landing. Still as batshit insane, vulgar and hilarious as it was all those years ago. I feel like I'm 13 again.

Got some qualms about underused characters and breakneck pacing, but otherwise this was great.

Happy Birthday, Taichi Souji!

An illustration of my OC, Taichi Souji. He smiles weakly as he looks back at another person, whose identity is obscured by the burn marks on the photograph. The background is gray and metallic, while the entire image is contained within a picture frame.

Perfect Blue (rewatch)

Even better on the second watch, all these years later. I miss Satoshi Kon as a director every day of my life. Truly an honor to catch this rereleased in theaters.

One Battle After Another

This world is a living hellscape run by idiots but we're gonna make it through, okay? Even when things get really bleak, we just need to keep fighting the good fight, no matter what.

The Thing

"Nobody trusts anybody now, and we're all very tired."
Genuinely what do I even say that hasn't been said before. Masterclass.

Day 50: Kunihiro
"I think you just rolled up a country bumpkin. Oh! It's Kunihiro! What's he wearing? ABORT! ABORT!"

#fanart #69DaysOfKatamari
A drawing of Kunihiro from Katamari Damacy. He leans out to the left, as he balanced on one leg and raises his right arm. The text on the top reads "50: Kunihiro", and the bottom left reads "6️⃣9️⃣ Days of Katamari".

Scooby-Doo (rewatch)

REALLY could have lived without the knowledge of Scrappy Doo's scrappy dick but here we are I guess.

Cabin in the Woods

Was so entertained by the Truman Show-esque horror angle in the first half that I was blindsided by this being the origin of "The evil is defeated".

and yet I can't bear to dance by myself
#fanart #silksong
An illustration featuring characters from Hollow Knight: Silksong. One of the Cogwork Dancers holds a white, glowing phantom-like shape within their arms. The phantom is clearly fading away, white glowing particles flying from their build as their visage distorts. The background is a brownish-gray color, illuminated by the light of this couple.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac

I feel like the name "Re-Pac" here is a bit disingenuous. The base game is as strong as ever, sure. But there's so much changed that this is basically a reimagining of the game. And for the most part, I'm all for it. Had an excellent time with this one.

maybe it’s just better for everyone if I stop drawing once the Katamari project is done.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds (All Grand Prix Cups)

Yep, that's one good kart racer. Fantastic track selection, a nice arcadey game feel, and perhaps most strikingly of all, it's bustling with personality and reverence for the Sonic series.
It's one big celebration of what makes this series so special.

It could have been worse.
Not by much though!

"Pfft, don't underestimate me just cause you're the fastest on foot. In a race like this, I'll show you just what I'm made of!"

An illustration of my OC, Mai Nakano (left) posing next to Sonic the Hedgehog (right). Both are jumping in the air and pointing, while wearing Sonic Riders gear. The background is a pink-blue gradient with various cybernetic effects layered on top. The text in the top right reads "Sonic Racing CrossWorlds X All Bets are Off".

Super Monkey Ball 2 (replay)

Still the king of the marble roller. Fun, puzzling and challenging throughout, with a kooky yet very entertaining little story. That last world can get pretty rough, but aside from the Labyrinth stage it's nothing too unreasonable.

Dandadan (Season 2)

Yep, I'm a believer now. This season was such an unbelievable glowup from the first season, which I already thought was pretty good. Science SARU really fired on all cylinders here to make one of the best seasons of any anime I've seen in years.
