If federal payroll taxes stopped being collected when the govt stopped, the standoff would have lasted all of five minutes.

Seems like today, with this shooting, no one is saying we need gun control, or something really should be done-not from the left or the right.
Just, " violence is bad, thoughts and prayers" and it suggests to me that this is a phrase that gently means, "your death will not mean anything"

Anybody else listening to "I shot the sheriff" today?

Considering ummm national politics, should we be stocking up on champagne?

We've selectively bred for dogs of all sizes and even temperaments. Here's my request for a backyard sized giraffe. I just think it would be nice to be in my garden and see my pet giraffes walking about

It seems that if you want to protect old trees from being dug up for development, it's best to plant many dead people around them. Wherever I've seen large fields of dead people, nobody chops the old trees down.

Is it possible to just give the IRS a kidney?

Pretty soon we're really going to be eating the dogs, eating the cats.

So what I'm learning is that the dems "could have" just executive ordered a whole bunch of stuff but didn't?
Because either this much power existed in the last presidency or it doesn't now. But it sure looks like it does now.

Whenever you see, " suspect is considered armed and dangerous"
Shouldn't any American be considered armed and therefore dangerous?

When the young generations decide they are going to clean house, I hope they spare gen X.
I mean, they probably don't realize we exist, so there's that

Just a reminder that 3 months after your birthday is the anniversary of your parents doing "stuff". So maybe send them a gift, like a thank you card or something.

Coconut marshmallows. No not that weird brand at the vegan store. No, stop doing that.
Coconut marshmallows. I think they went extinct.
I never even knew they were endangered.

Auld Lang Syne much more powerful than any Christmas song.

Christmas songs must be played non-stop from 12:01 am the day after Thanksgiving till Christmas, but Auld Lang Syne just needs to be sung one time and The holiday is covered.

I'm at the point in this Christmas season when I'm glad that not all holidays have their own genre of music.

Arbor Day, you're my favorite.

The pronunciation of asai bowl make it seem like someone started to strange you halfway through the word.

My Side of the Mountain can easily serve as a book of life lessons:
Leave home when you need to.

Find your way

Make a place your home

Make friends with those who are different

Welcome your family new and old

Find love

I don't want to agree to disagree. I want to disagree until we agree. Grab a chair and a drink. Nobody's leaving

I'll accept" baby it's cold outside" as one adult being seduced ONLY if we see "Santa Baby" as a grown woman seducing an infant.

(Arguing Carols is inherently ridiculous)

There's a guy who if given a pardon right now would put the fear of God in every CEO in this country.

Yeah it won't happen. Just throwing it out there.

I'm thinking that I have never been as sure of my past as Hunter Biden must be that he didn't do anything crazy in 2013.

What percentage of Thanksgiving is people cooking the nastiest thing they can, just to watch their friends/family play nice and tell them it turned out great?
November 30, 2024 at 3:35 PM
There is a big difference between volunteering to cook something for today, and someone volunteering you to cook.
