Twas the night before Christmas, and all were abed
visions of dougnhuts danced in our heads
when under R’s blind there arose such a rattle,
they peeked underneath it prepared to do battle.
And this their sleep-muzzled eyes did assail:
4 tiny paws and a large bushy tail.

I didn't realize that Piffaro was performing, or that you're also intereseted in early music!

I felt like when I (genx) was in high school (Texas, to be fair), I got that vibe a lot from my (late-)boomer teachers. Alas that it's true here. Thanks for the reminder to stay off nextdoor...

Ditto. (I not only used G+ circles extensively, I *worked* on the dumb thing for a while. No idea anyone else ever picked that feature up.)

I'm from the other side of the pen/pin line, and living in Michigan was an *adjustment*. (Luckily I'd taken Ling 101 & knew about the issue)
Coworker: can I borrow a pin?
Me: [...why sewing stuff? oh right...] sure, here's a writing thing.

And my daughter did a high school history "thesis" on women soldiers of the Civil War. IIRC, it also helped that there was a heavy emphasis on modesty, such that tent-mates didn't undress in front of each other. (Also, many of them dressed as men & became tent-mates with their husbands)

OK, I'm not sure it's actually more than 6, but it's getting there -- my dad was a huge fan, and it came on every so often. Plus a summer program showed it.

That Graydon Saunders caught a few eyeballs in *this* household! (It's a comfort reread for one of us.)

Yeah, I've been going through South Station relatively frequently, and that one gets me every single time. *shudder*

My grandmother was entirely unwilling to account properly for this issue. She kept insisting on putting a viburnum that would grow to 6-8' tall and 4-8' around maybe a foot from the deck. 15 years later, we have a viburnum trying to grow through the railings. Good job planting for what will be!
