“As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured, silent play on the shadow of power
A spectacle, monopolized
The camera's eyes on choice disguised
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?”

Starting a list of where you can spend your money and not put it in the pockets of the oligarchs. Please add to it:

Amazon -> independent web sites with often better prices (just wait 1-2 more days)
Amazon -> Bookshop.org and support local bookstores as well.
Tesla -> Rivian, Ford, GM, VW
….
Bookshop: Buy books online. Support local bookstores.
An online bookstore that financially supports local independent bookstores and gives back to the book community.

On the same day we visit the Anne Frank house my oldest informs me that two modules from his humanities class — racial and climate justice — have been nixed because of the Trump administration’s anti-DEI policies.

These are warning signs. We ignore them at our peril.

Miles Lewis-Skelly doing the zen meditation pose after he scored against Man City is the purest kind of trolling.

I love Erling Haaland, but I’m sure he knows who MLS is now!

Trump just launched a trade war against Canada over fentanyl. The US seized - wait for it - 43 pounds at the US-Canada border last year.

43 pounds.

Trump Administration says that fewer Americans dying from Fentanyl deaths will get the newly imposed tariffs removed.

I call bullshit. It’s an excuse that is so vague they will keep them on as long as it’s politically feasible.

We should sticker everything with how much those tariffs cost people

I bought @chrislhayes.bsky.social new book “The Siren’s Call” on Bookshop.org so:
1: I won’t get distracted with other stuff on my iPad; and
2: money goes to local bookstores and not the pockets of the broligarchy.
