Pilot, traveler, skier, former engineer, occasional unqualified political pundit. I post lots of aviation pictures and occasional questionable commentary about politics.
If “groceries” is a foreign word and a 50 year mortgage sounds like a good idea, those are signs someone doesn’t even understand the middle class (never mind poor). Crazy that so many MAGAs think he’s on their side… #clownshow

This has to be very weird seeing a former coworker go down this path

Speaking of Chicagoland, any ideas why we now have a 12 day long TFR and restricted airspace over Chicago starting today? No stated rationale.

@wgntv.com do you have any idea why the FAA shut down the low altitude airspace over Chicago for the next 12 days? That isn’t normal.

Similar but slightly less formal as I understand it with respect to the NYC airspace.

My point is a simple one. The top 10% of earners are paying more than 70% of the tax revenue. The lions share of tax dollars come from the wealthy. You can argue if it should be more or if tax cuts are wise now, but that’s the math.

The top ten percent of earners pay more than seventy percent of the total income tax revenue. We can absolutely argue whether this is a good time for tax cuts, but the whole “rich people don’t pay taxes” thing is bad math. There are egregious anecdotes but the norm is that the rich pay a lot more.

@carlquintanilla.bsky.social well yes this is true, but it’s also inherent to any tax cut that the benefit of cutting taxes goes to those who pay the highest share of taxes. We can debate whether cutting taxes makes sense with a huge deficit, but if taxes get cut it’s always going to look like this.

I have absolutely seen the same thing both in and outside the general aviation community. I’ve been probing for the “what could he do that would lose your support” and all too often there is no answer.

A) yes that’s a fair point B) the guy suggesting Graeter’s isn’t wrong
