Isn't it "homey" where conveying "warm, pleasant" but "homely" where conveying "ugly, ill-favored". I've never, to my knowledge, heard "homely" used as a complement. Such is life.

I share the outrage but this (and most if not all) responses from our political class are all emotion and zero actionable plans. They're just herding cats while avoiding responsibility, IMO.
