How about that speech last night? It reminds me of that part in V for Vendetta where the chancellor tells his inner circle to flood the airwaves to remind people why they need the party.

Not surprising when this is the same party that on the state level has been changing rules for petitions and citizen led actions. When the GOP loses in democracy they do not become more democratic, they find a way to subvert democracy.
Scoop: Mike Johnson wants changes after being outflanked on Epstein files

If you have the funds, consider donating to your local food pantries and banks. As job growth falters, grocery prices climb, and the risk that healthcare costs go up, we are going to see an increase in people needing food, and Trump and the GOP is making sure the government leaves them in the cold.

Any thoughts on the Purple Revolution? The fact that more and more MAGA are breaking free of the brain washing and see Trump as a threat is a good sign. My question is will this be a long term alliance? Trump is the immediate threat, but we need to fix all the factors that brought us here.

Mike Johnson is sure they could come up with stop gaps or other funding measures for healthcare by December. Just a reminder, Congress only has 51-60 working days left in 2025, and that is assuming GOP leadership does not decide to pull early breaks like they did in summer.

Kimmel being suspended is the exact same as Barr's firing. Aside from the fact that she had a history of being inflammatory on social media that made her a headache for her bosses, and still got a couple of chances to stop. And there were no veiled threats from the president and FCC.

When your economy is failing. When the farmers are struggling. When you still refuse to release Epstein files. When Putin laughs at your attempts to end the fighting. When the suspect does not turn out to be a black trans woman. What can you do to distract your base? Let us see how this goes.

1-2% of Utah's population is black, and the images of the "Person of interest" looks like a white guy. Yet HBCUs many states away are catching death threats. When we talk about the kind of audience Kirk built, this is it.

This may well happen to all of us no matter the state we live in as costs continue to rise. Eventually there will be no middle class, just rich and some gradient of poor.

It is bad out there for farmers and farming states. Part of me wants to indulge in FAFO because we know many of them voted for Trump not once but probably three times. But I do not want to see every bit of farm land owned by some giant agribus. I do not want to see these communities hollowed out.

At this point Trump has said talking about Epstein was passé, that MAGA who wanted it are losers, and it is a Democratic hoax. But him and Johnson are fighting really hard, up to not threatening GOP politicians, to keep them under wraps. They really seem surprised that their base wants this.

Watching the right wing and libertarians argue over a government purchase of a piece of Intel is funny. Trump has gone socialist! No, socialism would be kicking out the upper brass and having the employees run the place. This is just straight up fascism as government and corporations intertwine.

With everything else going on this has been under the radar for most. We have been used to cheap, fast flowing products with our Amazon orders and big box stores for years
This rule made many online purchases dirt cheap for U.S. consumers. Now it's ending
On Friday, the U.S. is ending its de minimis rule that made it easy for cheap goods to reach consumers. The change will affect roughly 4 million such packages processed each day.

Another day, and another school shooting. I love how the right wing and MAGA are jumping all over Kash Patel's tweet about the name change and possible gender of the shooter. I guess they are hoping it will steer eyes away from possible racist or anti-Semitic leanings from the person.
