Pyat, a Mouse
@pyat.bsky.social
Poorly curated personality advertisement for an actual mouse. Former reporter, sometime writer about orcs & rabbit samurai. Now Infosec bureaucrat. As seen on TV. Ponderous whimsy a specialty, sometimes factual. Squeak.
Ran my first RPG of the year, WEG Star Wars. It went well! Please accept this photo of my dice box, which is signed by Ed Greenwood and has been in continuous use since 1987.

In 1989, the syndicated comic strip Bloom County had a storyline in which property developer Donald Trump's brain ended in the Bill the Cat.

"Well, Dief the Chief,
Had him some beef
With them Yankees
Down White House way

Give us some nukes
To put up dukes
In case Commies
Come o'er to play

The Yanks they said
You'll get warheads
If from Arrow
You'll turn away..."

(Not actually a song by Stompin' Tom Connors)

The Hudson Brother's 1982 horror comedy "Hysterical" is NOT a good movie, but some of the casting... ah, un pur génie!

Once upon a time I worked for a print SF magazine and wrote up L. Sprague de Camp's obit and an interview with @bruces.bsky.social in the same week. The issue came out in the last couple of weeks of the 20th century. It's all very fin de siècle and what-not.

Post a video game you played/loved that no one remembers. (Except this is the Internet and it will be remembered.)

South is the Grand, east is the Niagara. The Niagara is impressive, with gorges, whirlpool, and water falls. The Grand winds through picturesque towns. I choose the Welland Canal, which is closer. It carries 250m freighters from Lake Ontario up a 50m cliff and south to Lake Erie.

I got this one with an Olympus Pen F with a 135 mm lens. Was much more striking than my cell phone pics. :)

I saw a cat. I had to go into the actual office for the first time this year. And there was this cat? Two of them. But this one was biggest. Also I heard stuff is happening the world.

ZARDOZ

The canon is complicated, though about 80% of the silent movie adaptations seem to be about fat people falling down or getting stuck in things. Also, I think Zardoz counts as an adaptation.

The German Tiger E tank variant available in the Italian tech tree for War Thunder is called the Tigris. This is historically accurate, but, c'mon, "Panzerotti" was right there.

Shape up US. I still need to visit Maine and West Virginia to fill out my east coast card. And Oregon, to get the west coast. I regret not getting to Hawaii when my little sister lived there, cause I am not likely to go without that additional pretext/free place to stay.

Samwise doesn't understand Christmas but he quite likes sitting in bags.

Or, you could do what I did with the similar Russian Kiev 30, of which I have, like six. I bought a single 100' roll of Kodak 16mm movie film and cut off a few inches at a time and load a cartridge - one roll is enough for 1500+ shots. However, the film will have sprocket holes. See image!

I appear here only to note that I use the same mouse puppet as a PFP in many places. That is all. Be warm.

The exterior and interior school shots in "IT: Welcome to Derry" were filmed at my old high school, which closed in 2019. The lockers have been painted but it otherwise looks the same.
