It's an interesting issue. Even if staff won't say designs are unsafe, they often are and it's obvious.

Exactly this. Kids should feel safe moving about the communities they live in.

Real people live all over Centretown yet the city is often willing to provide them less safety and mobility than suburbanites. Just so those same suburbanites can shave 3 mins off their commute. We're 2nd class citizens

I once met a few construction workers as we were all waiting for a bus that never showed

They worked in the tunnel and said it was shocking how many leaks there are and that the work was rushed and cheaply done.

Imagine the cost to rebuild/fix when RTM hands this back after 30 yrs

Thinking of @toondreessen.bsky.social as I pass his favourite water stain in Rideau Centre. I am trying to remember if that wall was once tiled.

They were handwashing with sponge and squeegee the tiles at the platform level.

There's only one taxpayer no matter what level of government.

Stop wasting our money!
pykey.bsky.social
People forget there's only one taxpayer

No matter what level of government the money comes from, it's a boondoggle we still have to pay for

I'd never bike on Bronson, not even the short stretch in this plan. It even feels unsafe walking there.

Sutcliffe's a liar. I've stopped believing anything he says

Also, his lack of action this winter after a neighbour died frozen on the street was disgusting. He posted a skating video of him and his wife the next morning. That's the moment I decided he was slime.

Imagine! I doubt @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social has been on a bus very often, let alone listening to feedback and tacking hard issues with random people.

I'm on the slowest bus line in the city with the slowest buses in the nation to talk to New Yorkers about what it would mean for their lives if we made them fast and free.
Zohran sits on a bus talking to a rider sitting behind him.

It is such a fantastic place!

One hope for the future though. Can we please find a way to make it accessible without a car? I've tried biking and walking there and both are dangerous and unpleasant.
pykey.bsky.social
This looks fascinating. Is there a way to find out more about it?

I thought about the bag option 😀

It'd just be nice to bike to the train, head to Montreal and then bike there on my own bike.

My councillor will vote no. It's all the apparently clueless suburban councillors I worry about.

More cost, smaller stadiums, less greenspace, no roof etc. All because a perfectly safe and adequate facility hasn't been properly maintained or upgraded by the city.

OSEg can fuck off with there stupid ads.

@mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social no one wants our money wasted on a handout to OSEG!! Cancel Landsdowne 2.0 now

I agree. I hope you've thanked Councillor Troster for all the hard work she did to make this happen.

I assume you'd never purposely co-op someone else's effort and pretend it was your own so I'm sure that this was just your attempt to thank her

I never really liked the Santa costumes tbh

That's awful 😞 I'm sorry someone did this to you

Today, Vancouver is well on its way to having a complete citywide AAA network. When asked whether or not the fight was worth it, Robertson is confident he’s on the right side of history: “The media overinflated how controversial it was. Change is always challenging, but it’s the right thing to do.”🔚

Can you take a folding bike on Via? I'm always so confused about their rules

Free coffee is nice and all, but let's get serious: proper dedicated bus lanes on Bank St could bring three times more people per hour to the area than mixed traffic does. Street parking will never provide these kinds of benefits for local shops.

Glebe BIA brews up innovative way of increasing foot traffic to area businesses
Lucky coffee lovers may get their morning cup for free this month as the Glebe BIA covers the cost as a way to promote local cafés.

I live on a street with the same sign at a corner. There are 8 holes in the concrete from the number of times it's been run over in the past few years.
