It is SO irritating to walk or bike past a chained-off stairway or bridge with a "not winter maintained" sign on it that went up on schedule on November 1st, with temperatures around 5C and absolutely not a flake of snow on the ground
Civil disobedience in Ottawa - the NCC closes off stairs everywhere because of course no one wants to walk in winter, right?

And the barriers go up on when someone’s calendar says they go up, irrespective of whether there is actually snow on the ground.

Let people go at their own risk.

Bahaha. They can't even run buses on time and conmunicate accurate arrival times and there's been an app for that for years 🙃

I'm pretty sure no one is asking for this 🤷

There's an app for that: OC Transpo to provide real-time crime reporting - Capital Current
OC Transpo will introduce a new app next year for reporting crime on transit.

If you see someone asleep on the TTC and what makes you uncomfortable is seeing them trying to sleep rather than the current conditions that are causing more people to become homeless - you are simply not good at being a person and you need to work on that.

@helps.octranspo.com We really need to have a chat about your lying arrival times.

People are waiting 20+ minutes for a bus that's going to be there any minute now.

Just wait a minute longer...
And another...
Another two...
Oh this minute for sure!
*Ha gotcha!*
It's now two more minutes away!

What passes for leadership in this city is truly appalling. Someone who sits on FINCO, chairs a committee that is associated with infrastructure, and is not a noob at the council table only should maybe figure out how to contribute to city building, rather than shit bombing other people's work.

Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

Honestly I don't even know why I have an UNCOUNTABLE number of lights on my bike: front, sides, spokes, rear, helmet, a whole string of blinky lights on the frame; when drivers still just do their thing right through a red light without noticing it or me! This close to serious injury tonight. 🙃

OC Transpos projected budget is like $930M this year. It'd also cost about $1M to bring back 5m Line 1 headways during off-peak. $2M to notably make the service better. This is the City of nickle-and-diming things we need, while handing developers $500M because said businessmen suck at business.

I’m pessimistic as fuck on a good day but this city singing kumbaya and holding hands and mainlining the “let bygones be bygones” from the Watson era theme song was, is and will be a mistake. Watson broke any independence in senior staff at the city and I don’t understand how they’re trustworthy
Just a reminder how little the city cares about transit

The provincial inquiry found "OC Transpo director Troy Charter stating that he would recommend the trial running team use its "discretion" to pass the LRT on a day it probably should have failed" led to Line 1 issues.

This bus was parked on the wrong side of the road, on the sidewalk, blocking the sidewalk and bike lane. I asked one of the half dozen cops standing 20 feet away to write them a ticket and he said "I prefer not writing tickets". And then just did nothing.

Enhancements like:
- slowing down the train
- removing 3.5% of bus service
- removing routes
- slowing down bus frequency
- gaslighting us daily with BS
These improvements, along with savings and efficiencies from many other projects, help the City make investments in key priorities like enhancing transit services.

A bad day for Canada, and therefore the world.

Ontario (population 16 million, 40% of the country) has passed new legislation prohibiting bike lanes that take a lane from cars.

An escalation from Bill 212, which required municipalities to get approval.
A sad day for cyclists. Bill 60 - which prohibits the conversion of motor vehicle lanes to bike lanes (or any other prescribed purpose) - has passed Third Reading this morning which will kill various cycling projects in Toronto & across Ontario. #shame #BikeTO #BikeSky #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero
