Yeah, SHR is really just RAID5 with some flexibility to mix and match drive sizes. A NAS *should* be able to go from RAID1 to RAID5 once you add a third drive and give it a lot of time to rebuild but I’ve never done it myself.

I use Synology’s hybrid raid and it’s fine to add new drives, even going from one disk to two

My best guess is that mentally you always think “well, of course I can pick up a single sock, nbd” and there’s enough going on mechanically for so little sustained time that it just loosens up ezpz

Take a single sock. Drop it to the floor. Pick it up. Drop it again. Pick it up. Drop it again. Keep doing this. Within 2 minutes you’ll feel quite a lot better. Do the sock routine as needed.

How far in were you? I’ve been trying to chip away at Dawntrail for 18 months and I’m still only like 10% of the way through it. If I don’t beat it before the next expac next summer I’m done. Can’t do back to backs again. Going from ARR to Shadowbringers in one go nearly killed me.
