TLDR: it hasn’t really ever worked and even if it did it would be easy to circumvent.

I wish it did, that would be fantastic for artists and anyone who’s trying to protect their IP

Indeed, our best robust mimicry methods produce images that are, on average, indistinguishable from baseline mimicry attempts using unprotected art.
