Technically I didn't need to, but I had to change a very large number of other names/locations/titles/numbers, so I decided to change everything, including Marion's name. Creates a cleaner break: Marion Wheeler is SCP. Marie Quinn is all mine

Five minutes would have done it. The film has a three part structure with an epilogue of a few minutes, plenty of time to wrap up without breaking from real time

When you say "did its job well" I'm not sure what you mean

In particular, everybody arriving at Raven Rock in the final scene knows exactly what happened - and whether the US initiated a response. But we don't get anything. The film promises hard payoff - relief or devastation - three times, and then denies us

It doesn't make sense to appeal to uncertainty here. Either there will be a huge atomic explosion or the missile will be a dud and nothing will happen. The outcome will be immediately obvious to nearly every character in the film. Either outcome could have been delivered satisfyingly
