Hello!
Thank you Tom! It was great to get involved with the polls again. I'm happy with the outcome - but more importantly, I added 19 songs to my 2025 Super Tunes playlist!

We can reclaim this banger for the forces of good! I'll get back to you with a full plan.

I mean, I didn't even vote for St Etienne, such is the high standard! Though I did vote for two songs that sounded a lot like St Etienne.

There are over 12 good songs in this playlist which means I've actually had to think hard about this! Well done everyone!

This peevish post brought to you by a mild cold, please carry on with your days.

*And* 'Underneath It All', which is even better but apparently my CD single budget had run out by that point. Does Bob Dylan have ragga toasting on his album? I am not interested otherwise!

RIP!

Dutifully voting for 'Soda Pop' on behalf of all the under-10s I know who say it is the best KPDH song. But delighted to find a Fred Again song I actually like at long last!

Aw, it's been a while since I've heard a song with people being very excited about being from the Bronx! It makes me feel like it's a very cheery Sesame Street neighbourhood.

I admire Raye's Smash Hits-style approach to capitalisation and punctuation, though she should have gone the whole hog and called it WHERE THE HELL IS MY HUSBAND!!??! 'Golden' has too many squeaky high notes and makes me cross, though it's the only 2025 song I have heard in panto!

I put the snooker on expecting to watch it for about two minutes and then was gripped by the whole thing and am now into snooker. I stand by Kyren and his choice of Dario G! He also understands that they took 'Life in a Northern Town' and elevated it into a higher form of art!

Crush was my immediate favourite so not all is lost!

I had it a lot till I started learning to drive, and then I just had dreams about difficult parking situations instead.

All four of these make me want to bounce around in my office chair, hoorah.

True, they did pinch the tune off ABBA to start with!

I'm voting CMAT as I like all chugging, repetitive songs that turn into a big wigout - it should be twice as long! Though someone pointed out that it has the same riff as 'The Hindu Times' by Oasis and alas, it's true.

ah - as pictured below!

The Wurzels did a reciprocal cover of 'Remember Me'! It was jaunty.

I like Water From Your Eyes, they sound like they are performing while going round in a washing machine. I went to see them last year and they had the worst support band I've ever endured - but this inspired me to book a ticket for someone much better instead! A happy ending!

I informed my nibling at Christmas that the above is the best song from K-Pop Demon Hunters, but she wasn't having it. Good to start some pop poll discourse with the next generation though.

Ha, it may not really be your thing! But I like it when they really go for the rock opera heights.

I love the Car Seat Headrest album but am quite bemused that someone has nominated the song where they let the guitarist pretend to be David Bowie for a bit. The rest of the album sounds like indie Meat Loaf!

Hoorah! I am going to get back into listening and voting this year! Though I will skip the inevitable Geese discourse, as I am right and you are wrong :)
