In Canada, several provinces have already enacted explicitly transphobic and queerphobic policies and laws that preclude access to gender-affirming healthcare, sports, and chosen name and pronouns.

We are witnessing an intensification of conservative movements targeting queer and trans lives and knowledge in Canada. The impacts of these campaigns disproportionately harms those in our community who encounter increased surveillance and violence, particularly BIPOC and disabled 2SLGBTQ+ people.
