The three games prior to Desai being fired they gave up 34, 42, and 33 points. Giving up only 20 to SEA (while being -2 in the turnover battle) was an improvement.

The biggest difference was they at least fired Desai before the SEA loss (and the defense looked better that game if I recall). This time they kept the dead weight that is Patullo (spoiler: the offense did not look better).

I don't think it's so much about Lock as that it was a winnable game that turned into a third straight loss following two straight ugly losses. This too was a winnable game turned third loss in a row following two ugly losses. What the team is (and isn't) has been made plain.

Probably not. We played a game between last Wed and this Wed. They could very easily argue that he aggravated the injury(ies) on Black Friday. Not to mention, not surgery - non surgical procedure. Maybe a cortisone shot or something.

In a vacuum it's an overpay for a potential rental player. But you have three or four contenders sniffing at a limited edge market rn. Assume that pushed price up. I also assume Vic had high praise and trust him to get Phillips back to the guy who had 6.5 sacks in 8 games.
