Magnitude 10 quakes? Yes, we know that no M10 earthquake has ever been recorded. But we believe our Magnitude10 braces could withstand one. We're here to help protect your "soft-story" house or apartment building from collapse.
Berkeley residents can get $3K to brace homes against earthquakes (and up to $10k for soft stories, which we can make even MORE affordable!) www.berkeleyside.org/2025/02/04/e...

Residents in specific ZIP codes can qualify for $3,000 grants to reinforce their homes, with extra funds available to lower-income residents.

Quake alert... our friends in Eureka just had an estimated 6.0 earthquake, per Shake Alert (you need this app on your phone!)

Quakes in the magnitude 6 to 7 range cause the most devastation worldwide, as they are more common than bigger quakes but capable of inflicting significant damage.

The city of Berkeley requires using "green" concrete (where fly ash, GGBFS, etc. is substituted for at least 25% of the Portland cement).

Using our Magnitude10 brace allows reducing concrete volume by as much as 60% compared to other systems (cantilevered columns, most steel frames). That's green!

I like ADUs as housing policy, but I feel obligated to note that if we add units w/in the footprint of a collapse-prone bldg, we are increasing seismic risk -- esp for low resource ADU tenants.
It's fair to weigh that risk against the short-term housing gain, but it's not zero.
