All i will say is i do not think ANY of the consequences of gutting NCMEC are "unintended" or even "collateral damage". They are the point.
For extra context, NCMEC runs the massive hashed database of CSAM that companies use to detect it on their platforms. If NCMEC were shut down, CSAM would proliferate everywhere. Not hard to see why the far right would want that while pinning blame on trans people.
