what actually happened was a man spotted us walking back to our hotel at night, hugging each other to stay warm. he approached us underprepared floridians and literally gave my mom the coat off his back.

but sure. yeah. chicago needs to be saved.

the first time i visited chicago was in 2008. i was touring the columbia college of art and design campus.

coming from NW florida, my mom feared gun fights in the streets of magnificent mile. she almost refused to make the trip and only did so because it concerned my college plans.

ICE agents are gassing police officers and civilians in grocery store parking lots but i still have to move my car from one side of the road to the other to avoid a ticket for street sweeping
