The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, mounted on a telescope atop Kitt Peak in Arizona, has some 5,000 robotic eyes. Since 2021, these eyes have flitted back and forth night after night, collecting the light of millions of distant galaxies. www.quantamagazine.org/is-dark-ener...

The American economy has absolutely roared ahead of the rest for the world in its pandemic recovery. We even have an opportunity to put an aging and newly doubtful Chinese economy in the rear view mirror for a century. What a thing to squander.
