It's not simply being able to read and synthesize ideas from text but that shit affects your ability to navigate society. Opens you up to exploitation by bad political actors and corporations if you can't rationalize the whys of things... but that's probably the point.

That's all very scary. I was absolutely insatiable with books as a kid and I think the better your ability to connect ideas and comprehend narratives the more you can grasp at intention and symbolism. Being able to do those things is needed like socially and politically... just yikes

It deserved much better than getting evicerated by Star War guys online especially since it resulted in the ultra trash fire 3rd part of the trilogy. We got a fucking banger whodunit trilogy out of it I guess.
