Nonbinary. NSFW content editor. 32. They/them. Kinky, autistic, good at editing video. Regrettably good at running porn subreddits.
Not that there's anything wrong with doing vanilla "would be on a DVD in a porn shop" content, mind you! But polling is an art form and if you don't intentionally leave out crowd-pleaser options from time to time, you'll constantly be doing the exact same content in a loop while also suffering churn

Fun fact: it's pretty common on TikTok lives! For those who do everything in-phone instead of sending the video feed to OBS on a real computer, they have to get creative to still emulate the expected "normal" stream experience. So they do what this guy's doing, usually using makeup mirrors.

Like, I fully understand the impulse to streamline the effort that goes into making these videos. But there comes a point where it's like, looking up a picture of a room on Pixabay would've taken less time and energy expense and would have looked better.

A post good enough it triggered the same "say, what's this" scrolling-stop twice in ten minutes across two accounts.

Next big Throne gift suggestion: a vlogging camera so the busted auto-focus on your existing camera can't keep adding its own creative flair to your videos

Maybe it's not even an intentional decision, but they have been actively working towards the "ditch the sex workers" step of every site that relies on sex workers.

They're building a machine that silos the porn while the sex workers still do all the work by making enticing SFW promo content.

"You can see every bump on my ass now in HD" No, you can see that the dude trying to light this for both the camera and the DLSR capturing stills of the same scene is basically lighting your ass like a NTSB investigation of a plane crash.

(Which, it always has been and will be an existential threat to the Hub but who ever accused the kind of dudes who build sites designed around strip-mining sex work of value and profit of thinking ahead?)

I guess part of that complacency is Pornhub was "created" by a Canadian entrepreneur who had a portfolio of sites, and then sold that off to a massive Canadian conglomerate that's run it ever since.

So from their perspective all the fucked porn legislation here is lost revenue but not existential.

For those not really in the content-making side of the industry, that's the equivalent of trying to sell sand to someone who owns a beach.

Video ideas are so plentiful you monetize allowing people to pitch them to you. There's not a world where BUYING one is a financially sound idea.
