I survived (it was so much work, I am so tired). I reconnected w/good friends and kept close friendships. I read some absolutely excellent books. I knitted my first blanket, for my honorary/chosen nephew (with some easy colorwork, based on a sunset photo I took).

Ugh the times (barf) is reporting that the cops focused on the son and arrested him because of his history of drug use. This whole thing is a tragedy but for fucks sake everyone has the right to a fair trial and the press is absolutely fucking this up.

Kwaazi is also an orange cat who was abandoned! my friend took him in but couldn’t keep him, so my partner & I adopted him. we all love him very much and he comes when he’s called (unless he’s very cozy). #Caturday

The local proposals, 2-6, are mostly tied to land use and development, and 2-4 are specifically worded to make you feel like they'd fast track housing,
"affordable
housing" even, which they might, but if you look under the hood, they kinda just cut out the democratic process via City Council oversight. Makes sense, considering Eric Adams scrambled to put proposals on the ballot in '24 and created this CRC to bump City Council proposals to the next cycle. [UPDATED: clarify that Adams scrambled in '24 election. This CRC was created in Dec.'24]

I really wanted to adopt a black cat! Then friends took in (but couldn’t keep) this loud ginger boy whose family had moved out leaving him alone in the empty apartment! Someone intervened before he was thrown on the street. He stayed w/me for a few weeks of cat-sitting & now he is my silly fur son!

I learned this from Taskmaster. This beige puddle in a thick looking crust is what they call flan. It is surprisingly lumpy when flung at an object. I was horrified.

Like what the fuck was her defense attorney doing, b/c twice here it says she discussed being trans with the guy. It’s not shocking she’s not had much gender affirming care with NHS’s notorious wait lists. And where was her defense, who says partners need to disclose this? Being trans isn’t an STI.
