all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

I would like to run the Subconscious Art Exploration workshop at the Queer Zine Fest as a way to offer a healing experience and specifically have participants process and understand their identities and roles in our community through artwork.

I have a meditative guided workshop called "Subconscious Art Exploration." The workshop is based on an art therapy practice called which is world-renowned for helping participants create art from their subconscious to process stuck emotions, resolve traumas, and learn about themselves.

We will then move onto 'making' and sharing our zines and comic projects and some follow up resources on 'finishing' the zines even after the workshop ends!"
6/6
queerzestzinefest.bsky.social
The first part of the workshop will start with introducing some relevant comic works to get some insights. This will be followed by a brainstorming and doodling session with some prompts to start thinking about their own zines / comic projects about Queerness and Food.
5/6
queerzestzinefest.bsky.social
Because food is inherently both deeply personal and political, it sits at the intersection of so much discourse on power, gender, labour, caste, necessity, luxury and care.

The workshop participants will be sent some helpful reading material to get their juices going beforehand.
4/6
queerzestzinefest.bsky.social
Food and stories involving it are a great medium for storytelling about NeuroQueerness because of the care, labour, love, appreciation, politics and power expressed through food.
3/6
queerzestzinefest.bsky.social
The workshop addresses queerness that is not restricted to one’s gender or sexuality, but the broader understanding and use of the word as a verb to mean something that is subversive, at odds with everything around it, against the grain.
