Enjoy Butterflies ,Dragonflies ,moths ,plants, casual Birder these days......not keen on mass "twitches" get a lot of pleasure from local sites (mid-Kent ) .Local history ,football (particularly non-league ) Love Orlestone forest +Dungeness.

Probably our last visit to the superb #godintonhousegardens for 25', very Autumnal now ,Some school children had created an Elephant from Conkers which littered the ground ,also a nice show of various Squash .Last along the cliffs near Deal an autumn party of Goldfinches #gardens #britishbirds

Finding a few interesting fungi now ,but not quite as good as yet ,as last season . A very pink toned Magpie Inkcap ,an un spotted Fly Agaric (var;Aureola ?) a nice Bracket Fungus and a very unusual soft .spongy "lump" growing from an Oak . #fungifriends #fungi #Toadstalls.

One present at Dungeness Steve..........failed miserably to spot it ,after a brief look (having worked in the trapping area most of the day )......... The Lillywhites are steady at the moment👍 .....excellent song mentioned on your last line

Been scrub bashing (work party) at Dunge earlier saw a few people looking first thing ,had a look myself after work for about 20 mins around 3.30 pm ........but no luck for me !

Few butterflies around this morning on the cliffs near Deal .....Wall Browns aside .but was pleased to stumble on a Crimson Speckled moth ....a first for me.

Re-visited a roadside site earlier this year ( as suggested by @sylvatica2024.bsky.social . Thanks Dave !) to re-aquaint myself with the very attractive and scarce Bastard Balm (Melittis Mellisophyllum) loads of different Colour variants ....Good to see them again. #FavouritePlant#wildflowerhour

Brilliant Martin ! What a smart looking bird .I tried for the AGP early this morning ,and after about an hour ,fairly sure I found it !
about 150-200 GPs in two flocks .this very dark well marked bird certainly stood out amongst the other Plovers.

Saw that van and yourself as I was leaving .........they just don,t learn ! At the AGP field was there also a Summer plumage bird amongst the Plovers (probably around 2-300 on the field ) the bird I saw seemed slightly different to the pics i,ve seen on various feeds . But obviously different .
