Cory, here’s the problem: I don’t believe you. I recall all too clearly the headline-grabbing filibuster you stood, but also the votes you placed immediately after supporting Trump nominees to key roles.

And if I don’t find you trustworthy, I’m not going to vote for you.

You’re losing the game.

Yes.

This is better read as the decades-long right-wing attacks against the BBC, the steady erosion of license fee support by right-leaning journalism, and the slow encroachment of right-wing leadership pushed into the BBC for “balance”.

Sure, and responses are all over the map with these things. But I was a first responder; I’d tag plenty of people as frozen, dithering, or quickly relocating themselves elsewhere (physically or mentally), but his body language coded to me as intentional (“get EMTs”) rather than evasive. YMMV, obvs.

I’m also not sold RFK Jr is having a trauma response - in emergency situations many, many people freeze entirely, but someone’s got to actually go call for an ambulance and the EMTs.

Did Women Ruin the Gentleman’s Club? by Bertie Wooster

“It’s absolutely awful, they stopped us racing newts in the dining room because it’s ‘unhygienic’ and proposed that assaulting a police officer merit expulsion! And one brought KNITTING. I’m now hesitant to slander my aunts in my own club!”

I mean, this is the era that plays in his head when he thinks about groceries. This is the behavior he thinks those SNAP dummies need to adopt to just straighten up and fly right.

I am 100% convinced he’s remembering going to a grocery store with his grandmother as a child, she paid with a check, and the cashier asked for ID because she was paying with a check.

This would have been roughly 1952. So totally relevant today.

The “ID in grocery store” absolutely throws me every time he says it, because I’m convinced he remembers his grandmother paying for groceries with a check and having to show ID to do it.

You know, a behavior no one under the age of 60 has ever encountered.

Nice free ferry you have there.

Would be a shame if something were to happen to that fare…

I know that sounds sort of cockeyed, given one is a mayoral candidate and another a governor, but I would not be surprised if some of the +D vote in NJ (governor and mayors) is wanting people in office who are naturally inclined to collaborate with him.

The stuff coming from the other side was UNREAL. I got three separate anti-trans-kids texts supporting her opponent.

The level of seething hatred for that style of politics, plus the Mamdani phenomenon across the water, prompted many people to view her as someone who would work with Mamdani.

…what.

Sorry, but - WHAT?

How many different ways are these guys going to attempt to shoot the hostage?
November 4, 2025 at 11:02 PM
No, this was weirdly absent any of the texts/emails/alerts I usually get for flooding weather. Not even from the power company, who usually warn about outages if someone might sneeze.

Overall, weather prediction feels like it’s gotten much worse in the last year.

It’s not you, the post is written in an easily-misinterpreted way - I’d already watched the interview so I knew she’d done exactly what she should.

It’s remarkable she’s shocked Kat just thanked her and hung up.

TP was apparently banking on either getting Kat to talk about the case, or at least get Kat to argue with her about not talking about the case.

Kat declined to give her EITHER viral opportunity. Good job Kat.

Oh, lady. You are a fool, to showcase your own conduct in this clip.

I actually wouldn’t have been able to pull you out of a lineup, but your name faintly rang bells of the “maybe worth reading” kind. After this?

Very, very different bells.

Christmas in a firefighter family is really just one long month of relatives nervously looking at trees and garlands, surreptitiously wandering over to check if they’re properly watered, and then asking the waiter to seat us on the opposite side of the room near the emergency exit.

If you want to participate in democracy, great! There are different levels of participation. Sometimes you occupy the level that matches your ambition/balance/talent, and sometimes you hit a ceiling because of your prior character/ability.

“Unfair, I want only THAT role” isn’t compelling.
