Intentional dangle. Both groups were enthusiastic about the hyenas mating. Couldn’t attest to inter-zookeeper relationships, though.

This feels like a good time for my favorite hyena related fact. My (once) local zoo spent years trying to get their pair of hyenas to breed. Enthusiastic yet unsuccessful as they were, the zookeepers were shocked to discover the hyenas were, in fact, both boys.

In teaching, I used to be praised for dressing up worksheets and slide shows with a bit of art or graphic design.
Now every teacher bangs out fifty corny canva presentations a minute, and I’m known as a bland and artless curmudgeon for “refusing to decorate.”

Popping back a half hour later to add: That would actually be horrific and must be for anyone our nation has done it to.

Dictatorship is bad and all but Jesus Christ. I have a hard time imagining what your average Venezuelan citizen is feeling.

I feel unmoored as it is.

Seeing Venezuela having their much maligned pseudo dictator ripped from power without worrying about law, due process, or international repercussions does make the tiniest part of me jealous.

This is a reminder to myself to reread Oke of Okehurst. A story notable, as I tried to convince my professors, for never mentioning Oliver Cromwell.

I luckily remembered I already own a good Vernon Lee collections.

I unluckily forgot that I already have two copies of Absolution. Soon my Vandermeer’s will go the way of the blue tigers.
