You don't understand. This, like everything, is for rich people. Rich people have enoguh money to pay their house off, but why do that when you can get a home loan for <4% tax deductible interest and invest your extra $1M in the stock market for 8-12% return?

It's like a narcissistic, abusive grandmother that so many people think of as normal but yet they manage to manipulate, abuse, and control those close to her. They make you feel crazy breaking from things that seem obvious to outsiders. Speaking as an exmormon. (2/2)

I don't fault people for making this criticism, because it is valid. That said, I forgive Brandon a lot because the Mormon church is a cult, and cults are incredibly difficult to break from. The Mormon church is especially pernicious because it parades itself as normal pretty well. (1/2)

I hate to be a downer, but it's unlikely that the boycott is the primary cause. Target's 52 week high stock price is $181 compared to today's price at $105. The $20 drop over the last month is is big, but it's likely just continuing the 12 month trend. Stock valuation is mostly made up anyway.

Omg. So much this! I am a notoriously patient gamer, and am loathe to spend more than $15 on a game. But the amount I am willing to spend on QUALITY education games for my kids is obscene.

I wish more people understood this. The stock price is so made up. It's based on what is usually a tiny subset of transactions on a given day. Until UHG actually has their cash flow affected (unlikely because the US Healthcare system is an oligopoly), nothing will change.
