It is very libertarian for the government to insert itself into the affairs of historically independent self-regulating professions. That is why Danielle Smith, self-described libertarian, is in favour of it.

A question of style: “someone that saw”, or “someone who saw”? In legal writing these days I see many using “that” as you have, but I prefer “who” here, and I may be willing to die a grisly death on this very particular hill.
