Absent your first suggestion, the SAVE act most likely is an unconstitutional poll tax. Many of the early state-level voter ID laws were overturned because of the burdens they placed on voters that didn’t have a drivers license or other approved ID.

The burden of proof should be on the government, not the citizen. If a claim is made that someone isn’t eligible to vote, the government should be required to prove it in court before removing them from the voter rolls.
The right to vote is just as fundamental as freedom of speech and religion.

By decree, the value of Pi shall be 3, no more, no less…

Please ignore future structural failures.

Has X implemented age verification for Mississippi residents as required by state law?

Am I the only one finding it laughable that a tax credit is being proposed as a policy solution after the legislature acted to phase out the state income tax?

I guess a temporary solution is better than nothing.

Is the snow still up on the mountain?
Recalling memories of my long ago visit to Portage Glacier in a January rain. Fortunately, the road was still open on the way back.

Many are too young to remember the NRA calling ATF agents jackbooted thugs for enforcing record keeping requirements for federally licensed firearms dealers.

I believe some credit cards only charged 7% back when states still had restrictive usury laws. This is a missed opportunity ;-)

Actually, this justifies a suspicious person report to local law enforcement.

Running the A/C on Christmas Day is not out of the question in Mississippi this year, but the morning fog did moderate temperatures.

Local TV news (usually metro areas) leads off with the worst crime of the day (breaking news). Even a low crime rate coupled with a large population is sufficient to generate hysteria.
Context and details matter but are viewed as too complex to report during a 30 minute broadcast.

Fortunately, the FM converter from Radio Shack was easily installed in the car.

In the absence of a dispute among the lower courts, why is the Supreme Court even getting involved?
