Finally finished this drawing!

Not my first time using colored pencils and Micron on bristol vellum--but certainly used a lot of new techniques here.

Two kendo-inspired sketches from sept/oct 2025. I was thinking of making these into woodblock prints, but just got too much on my plate.

Plastic Little (1994) may not be especially dense, thought-provoking, or at all possible to recommend (containing many of the OVA era's worst sins), but it's the first thing I've watched in a while that makes me want to grab my tools and draw. It has real passion behind it.

Finally set up a KoFi shop, listed some art and commissions for sale. If you’re interested in what I do, consider giving it a once-over: ko-fi.com/orltn

Put leather conditioner/weatherproofing on a watch band. Maybe overkill, but now it's the shiniest, smoothest band I own...

Working on a new piece. Was stuck on the background for ages. Picked up some photography books and figured it out.

Last night's figure drawing part 1: shorter poses. Contour practice. Enjoying construction lines and reducing things to shapes. I find it counterproductive to think about objects as being foreshortened--it makes them intimidating.

Posting more printmaking work from last semester. This one is especially important -- the first monotype I ever made.

Messing around with old alcohol markers. Intrigued by the opacity, but still nervous about putting them onto a nice, finished sketch.

Either way, I'm happy they didn't completely give out on me after laying dormant for so long...

Kaltes Licht II, Woodblock print on Masa, around 10"x15". From a class in 2025.

Probably one of my most successful pieces of art to date, and I made it largely as a test.

Moresnet Standard Infantry, 5"x7".

Figuring out a simpler style for watercolor, and really enjoying the subtlety one can achieve by layering different tones for shading. I do wish the marker I used for the background was darker, though...

Since I'm new here, another example of what I do -- linocut! Semaphore! Linocut semaphore!

I ended up grinding this out the day before it was due, but the final result was well-worth it...

Last piece of 2025--Moresnetian Seperatist. Micron and Koi watercolor, around 5x7 inches.

I've balked at serious watercolor for most of my life, but this piece was a real step forward... I'm finding layering colors to be a lot of fun.
