I looked up Jay's work. He had early work in the Royal Shakespeare Company, he was better known for voicework. Chairface Chippendale in the Tick, thr second Shere Khan (especially in Talespin) and Rugrats. Klasky Csupo cast Jay as the famous pediatrician Dr. Lipschitz.

I definitely grew up on X-Men, Small Soldiers, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

It's a great episode where Val convinces Fran to be her roommate in a neighborhood where the male:female ratio is really high.

knock, knock, knock "Hello!" It's one of their landlords. It's Lenny & Squiggy's 17th anniversary ("the meat anniversary").

Even as a millenial Bostonian, I feel the local localness when watching Cheers (or Wings).

I'd also recommend tgese 2. Boston-set sitcoms. "Clipped" (a barbershop show where Wendt and Reginald Vel Johnson play a married couple). Also "Raising Dad" (starring Kat Dennings, Bree Larson, & Bob Saget).

I've been watching an episode or two per night. Jane quickly faked a queer relationship to avenge Duncan, piss off the other girl, and scare her jealous bf.

Storywise, I wish Zoe's provocative shutterbug friend Danni (Megahn Perry) stayed for a 2nd ep. I can see a possibly coded chemistry.

I'll check. It's a fun rewatch

As an mtf who entered high school in 1999, I found ZDJ&J, Popular, & X-Men Evolution relateable

On the note of Cheers, I just re-purposed a problematic line in the theme for a LGBTQ karaoke night.
