My guess is that’s because his overall season was just alright but nothing great. If you’re paying Conforto it’s because you believe in those last 2 months where his bat speed rose 2 mph but his whiff% didn’t change which gave him a .404 xwOBA and a 137 wRC+. For a one year deal, I’d take that risk.

In the last 2 months his bat speed rose 2 mph and he had a 137 wRC+ with a .404 xwOBA. Will probably be a relatively cheap deal too at 1 or 2 years. MLBTR has him at 2y/18M.
