Are Ukraine's rare earth elements a scam? This video by Inside China Business seems to strongly suggest there is no $500 billion to be had. I'm no expert, so I decided to look up the guy:

As far as I can see, tariffs are generally a regressive tax on the country imposing them. To me this looks like the US President just imposed a big tax on his own middle class and poor constituents to help keep funding his tax breaks for the rich.
