I notice more and more that people view politics as this sort of, virtual game.

They hold and spread ideas that are incompatible with reality while maintaining a perfectly functional presence in real life.

I worry it will take true suffering or mass death to shock these people back to reality.

So I wonder what's going on with the whole mineral thing then? If the US were to get anything they'd need it to be secure for a long time to be worth the effort.

One way or another there would be neee for US troops there to make any such deal work no?

As someone who lives close to Ukraine, I'm absolutely terrified.

I wonder what's the best way, without voting away our democracies, to beat this idea into their heads.

I find it disgusting that regular people can see this and have seen this for years, yet our most educated people, who we chose to lead us, are so incapable and paralyzed.

I never had a service job. I don't ever abuse retail or service workers. I was taught to not take my frustration out on people who didn't directly harm me.

I simply cannot imagine doing so.

It only took my parents being involved in my life, that's it.

Somehow they managed to cause what is essentially an agricultural worker's strike with no union required. Amazing.
January 28, 2025 at 12:21 PM
You can feel that?

I've never been able to feel anything below a ~4.5 or so.
January 27, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Lol, I'm asking about what's going on over there.

I don't see why we need to escalate to accusations, not everyone that questions you is a ruski.

You're saying I'm ignorant, well, I am, that's I'm asking lmao.

Yes? If they're legal residents they should just... Go back to the US.

By the logic here you're effectively saying it's legal to. deport any non-citizen for any reason at any time.

If this is used as precedent, your laws are either written by toddlers or your job market is gonna be, very funny.
January 27, 2025 at 11:42 AM
How exactly do you deport a legal resident? Like under what legal backing?

Do they just like lawsuits or something?
January 27, 2025 at 11:32 AM
Is the US agriculture industry completely dependant on undocumented migrant labor?

Isn't that a massive problem? I mean, deportation is not the answer here but this is rife for abuse on so many levels.

This is a translated chinese source is it the only one?

Not saying this isn't possible, just, I think posts like this do more harm than good when they don't include reputable sources, multiple is best.
January 27, 2025 at 11:08 AM
Source?
January 27, 2025 at 10:06 AM
Formula1 has already banned it.

A thing that I am incapable of understanding:

Where does this *profound* mistrust of institutions come from?
Institutions have never really benefited from a deep level of trust, perhaps rightfully so. But this wave of mistrust or even hate seems, too extreme to me and I can't figure out why...

It's all one shot away.

You're really good at turning my ramblings into beautiful pieces of art. <3
January 19, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Falcon 9 anyone?

SpaceX has the same philosophy as Space Race NASA, even though in that case people actually died.

Test rockets are expected to sometimes blow up. It's good we get thst now instead of another Challenger.
January 17, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Elon is the face of SpaceX. He owns, partly funds and directs it.

It's success is, in part, because of. Elon.

Don't get me wrong he's a loony, he's lost it, but he's also incredibly successful, for bettor or for worse.

I really do wish he'd stick to rockets tho...
January 17, 2025 at 7:15 PM
And NASA uses Falcon 9 and Dragon for everything.

Before that NASA had ingratiate itself with Soyuz.
January 17, 2025 at 7:01 PM
We're talking about SpaceX not Elon's political skullduggery which is an entirely diferent thing.
When it comes to space industry, SpaceX is the most efficient way to use taxpayer money. or would you rather Boeing get it?
If you're against space industry and exploration that's a different subject.
January 17, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Falcon 9 has a spotless launch record tho, they're pretty good at nailing their actual production rockets.
