So homemade biscuits are now the norm here. I made 3 batches of dry ingredients and sealed them in masin jars. Grab a jar, some butter, and some buttermilk. Combine laminate a bit and cut. The end result:

My sourdough starter has been fed a 2nd time. The smell, well, is something else. Can anyone tell me what to expect? It was a bit more pungent than I expected. And not entirely pleasant.

So. It is cold as balls out. 11°F. It's has warmed up a bit, actually. So we stayed inside, but it wasn't wasted. New faucet installed. It's not dripping anymore.

So, I made brownies 3 days ago. I washed the mixing bowl, and it sat in the "clean" side of the sink to dry. It sat upside-down at an angle resting over the cooling rack that held the tray after baking.
I go to put the bowl away, and I find a squatter.
This lady had taken up residence.

So I'm re-venturing into canning. Went thrifting to see if I could find a couple of widemouth quart jars. I found 14. 13 labeled at $1.49 1 labeled at $0.99. The low one happened to be 50% off of the sticker price. I pulled 3 out of the cart. This one's .99 the rest are 1.49. 1/2 #canning #thrifting
