A girl in my school died from encephalitis after chicken pox - less common than with measles, but it did happen. Every time I hear someone say something stupid like "nobody ever died from it" I don't know whether to scream at them or just shake my head. I'm sorry about your brother.

Looks like he deleted his post, but yeah, the other side of that injury thing is sometimes you don't feel it until later when the adrenaline wears off. I've continued activity with torn rib cartilage and pulled muscles and then been unable to function for several days afterwards!

Yeah, people in other states say "everyone contact your senators" - I have to explain to them that it is useless. And we could have had Gloria Johnson, but TN just had to be TN again. (I appreciate those of you in the state House who do better - I'm just over the line from you in district 52)

That's the response I got several months ago when I reported some actual nazis - not subtle or suggestive of anti-semitism, just straight out hate. Kind of tells you what kind of community they think it should be, doesn't it?

For those who don't know, I know the woman (well we knew each other years ago and had just reconnected on here briefly before this), she lives near him, saw his address on social media, went to see if it was really his house, decided to ring the doorbell and he opened the door and attacked her

Just what I was thinking...he realized that people won't like him as much if he does that so he's declaring victory as a way to back out of doing what he said he'd do.

Even if charges aren't refiled in 4 years, he was NOT exonerated. Although I'm sure he'll say he was.

Yes, and if they hadn't done this, the incoming DOJ would likely have dismissed with prejudice and there would be no option to refile.

Yes. If they didn't dismiss, the incoming DOJ would do it and would likely NOT dismiss without prejudice so they wouldn't be able to refile charges. This is the best of the (not very good) options.
