I went to a club last week and the DJ kept looking at me funny. They just wouldn’t look away - every time I looked up, we were making eye contact. Even while seemingly distracted, they never missed a beat and kept the music going. At some point I stopped paying mind to the DJ’s wandering eyes and lost myself in the music. After the show, within the bustle of the crowd, the DJ finally came up to me and gave me a slip of paper with an address, saying only to “visit when you’re ready.” --- The address led me to a warehouse with no identifying signage. Huge and completely barren. One small door lied in the center of a wall facing the road, and I cautiously approached. When I opened the door, I was met with a strange world of colorforms beyond description. I turned around, awash in second thoughts, and the door had disappeared. With each passing day, I can feel my body losing definition as abstraction pulls at its concrete form. The longer I remain here, my desire to leave grows weaker.

i will always laugh at "ai is inevitable, we must use it" people cuz the only one I've had to interact with irl is someone who made a completely jarring and incomprehensible set of AI generated videos in place of a PowerPoint presentation for a midterm in a class I took my last year of art school

writing this here because this is a pretty big change. as of today, i have officially been made redundant from the company i've worked at for nearly 8 years. the writing's been on the wall for some time - close friends will know that i've struggled with my work immensely due to autistic incompatibilities with retail and customer service, which has resulted in breakdowns and writeups. at the start of this year, i finally formally asked my manager and supervisor about making changes to accommodate for my autism - this never happened. in july, my hours were suddenly cut from a full time 5 day week to just 2 days per week, and despite pleading from almost everyone on our retail team, it's been kept that way with no sign of the situation improving. you may have noticed over the past few months that i've been pushing merchandise stuff on Ko‑fi a lot more and even recently launched a subscription - this is the main reason why. i've also been seeking other forms of help where i can - universal credit has been very helpful in this regard. being made redundant also means i will get a bonus lump sum payment, though because of the minimal hours i've been working, it's not an amazing amount. the next couple of months should be okay, money wise - after that, i'm not sure. there's a couple of plans in place but they're all very uncertain and wibbly - mainly, looking for part time work and applying for more benefits assistance. i have no idea if i can get either, the first due to the volatile job market and recession, and the second due to qualifications and evidence, but i'm sure as hell going to try. if you would like to support me during this tumultuous time, the best ways are through either buying something from the Ko‑fi shop, or signing up to my rabbit club subscription, where you can get exclusive bits like blog posts and an archive of sticker bits. i am also grateful for donations, though i would much prefer you get something from me in exchange for your money. to the people who have bought anything from my shop over the past couple of months, or signed up to the rabbit club subscription when it launched last month - you've been helping immensely with keeping my spirits up and providing support while i go through all this, and i cannot thank you enough. i do apologise that i haven't been able to share much art publicly recently - on top of the weather being Sub-Optimal for sticker activities, i sprained my wrist super bad a couple of weeks ago and have had to let it heal back up. i have managed to start drawing comfortably again over the past couple of days, so there'll be some new stuff on the way soon. hopefully things get better and brighter sooner rather than later. fingers crossed.
