Sorry for the rage spiral. Once I've processed it, I will come back to Earth and be reasonable again and will continue doing my best to undo the damage these people choose to inflict.

It is absolutely WILD to me that people who get into positions of power, especially in an educational setting, choose to use that power to harm, destroy, and chase people away instead of appreciate and use the opportunity they have to empower and make a positive difference to its full potential.

And while I think its important to support people dealing with the fallout, I also think there is an absolute lack of holding people accountable for their shitty behaviors and lack of consequences. It makes me feel very naive and stupid for thinking anything I do can make anything better.

When people in positions of power choose to behave out of hand (e.g., body shaming, sexualizing, terrorizing graduate students) instead of THEM being told to get themselves together and start acting right, the energy is instead spent on telling other people how to react/deal with the fallout.
