I could definitely say cases where cameras are important. Some situations are higher risk. But routine check-ins at homes and workplaces - yikes.

Not that I’m aware of - critics of BWCs for community supervision say they’re a solution in search of a problem

There won't be enough cameras for the probation officers who are currently armed.

Probation Officers to be Armed with Guns and Cameras
The Legislature is being asked to approve cameras after a major policy shift it never voted on. There are serious implications for privacy and accountability.

They don't wear masks.
Many RPD officers have been bought up on discourtesy charges.
Deaths are investigated by the AG; investigations not shut down.
It's NOT perfect. There IS unjustified use of force.
But they don't have the culture of ICE for the most part.
