May I remain arrogant enough to believe that no human deserves mistreatment from a narcissistic god, angry enough to fight abusive religions that teach us otherwise, & bitter enough to make complicit men choke.

Building community? Copy church. It’s the one thing church does well. 3 steps:

1. Community needs consistency - pick one day a week and meet with your people. Just hang. Share a potluck meal. Be present, consistently. 🧵

Just a reminder:
The people telling us they are “protecting kids” by denying trans children access to scientifically backed medical care are the same people who beat their kids. They think spanking is healthy and good but hormone blockers are abuse. 🧵

One of the reasons this time is scarier is that we are post-Covid.

We saw, first hand, that our neighbors could not be bothered. We saw that abject selfishness would rule.

So I have no hope that people who wouldn’t wear a mask will stand up to a government that’s oppressing their neighbor.

I need y’all to stop acting like this is a shocking aberration. Evangelicals did not suddenly turn on their faith or their god. 🧵

Conservatives fight so hard for their guns because they believe an armed populace is a protection against an oppressive government.

That concept isn’t wrong. We should always be suspicious of power, and we should hold onto weapons. 🧵
