The best part of working out at home is Gus trotting over to get some rubs, neck stretches and maybe even a toy for me to throw. He always walks away to give me space to do my next set but comes right back when he sees me resting 🥹 (and yes he desperately needs a haircut 😅)

Now dogs shouldn’t have caffeinated tea. I’m not sure why he made this selection due to his own health needs. This led to a conversation about how he should explore herbal teas but only in moderation. He has MORE than enough energy anyway so I wouldn’t recommend him consuming any additional amounts.

Gus seemingly doesn’t feel any shame from his interest of wanting to review a tea on his own even if he didn’t have access to hot water. Even as I picked up the tea packaging, he still wanted to get another sniff to remind him of the memory of the tea.

Unfortunately I don’t know dog language so I can’t properly translate how Gus felt about the tea. But what I can say is that it must be a very good tea because out of all the teas that he could have stole out of my stash while I was away, he picked this one!

Is Honey Recommended: This depends on your preference. I love it both with or without honey. Either way it’s delicious, so you decide. I feel like with the honey, it did give it a slightly sharper lemon orangey taste.

Taste like: This tea has a delicate citrus taste. It’s not overpowering at all. You can slick taste the slight licorice root. But please don’t let that intimidate you into thinking it’ll taste like licorice candy because it doesn’t. It compliments the citrus very well.

Why it may be for you: I think if you love sake you may love this tea. Seriously it reminds me of that. And yall I’ve tried to get into sake so many times, but my tastebuds just haven’t acquired it yet. However I have friends that LOVE it so I really think they would enjoy this tea.

Why it’s not for me:
So if you didn’t know, genmaicha is a Japanese brown rice green tea. I’ve never had it before BUT I’m always open to try. The smell was not my favorite. It smelled like roasted brown rice and roasted coconut and it just wasn’t my preference.

Tastes like: The perfect blend of lemongrass and chamomile. I’m learning in my exploration of teas that if I do chamomile, I want it to be a blend and I do like how these flavors play along with one another.
