Going to say that war with Russia is close to inevitable. If we screw up massively Russia will invade us after Ukraine. More likely attacking part of Europe will be a Hail Mary after Putin realises he is losing in Ukraine.

We need to be ready.

Just old style nuclear warheads will do. The British deterrent is designed to flatten Moscow even assuming the Anti-Ballistic Missile works as advertised (so much better than normal Russain Air Defence). The French deterrent force will flatten all the other bumps on that heat map.

Whereas you sir, were a man so secure the USA trusted you with sitting in a room with a key that, if turned, could have rendered the rest of us history.
January 27, 2026 at 8:53 PM
Last I checked France (Nuclear power) and the UK (also a nuclear power but with its deterrent tied to a tech sharing arrangement with the USA) were in Europe. Both capable of independent nuclear launch. I think in any slicing Rutte was talking dangerous nonsense.

One of the reasons the Danes and Greenlanders won't sell Greenland is that the last time they sold some real estate to the USA, some of it got turned into Epstein Island.

The timing of the tariffs is a great example of a self-own, they will feed into inflation in the US and hit US consumers more intensely as the Mid-Term campaigning intensifies.

Yes the US is that terrible friend but I expect TACOs this year.

Obviously next year is a whole new order of dementia.
January 17, 2026 at 5:46 PM
Is this a new Russian thing, equipped with but not capable of using?
January 14, 2026 at 5:47 PM
Excellent reporting as always.

On the point about further "SMOs" do not confuse inability with any chance of restraint. This is what a lot of authoritarian regimes do when they bog down in a war, they convince themselves they can win a different one!

Well Russia's war has always been against the Ukrainian economy, well and truth. Trump will also want to hide that democracy produces better outcomes than the continued unchallenged rule of some geriatric dictator.
January 5, 2026 at 5:13 PM
Except that is a false framing. The EEC embargoed the Argentines, France went all out to secure all Exocet missiles globally to stop any Argentine resupply, Spain intercepted an Argentine sabotage op, other countries helped in various quiet ways too.

Ah the mighty Oreshnik, once fired...no that is it, it was fired once. I realise this is an improvement on Sarmat but then so too are bottle rockets. Has anyone asked Pootin if the 91 Ukrainian drones are in the room with him? Those things are scary.
December 30, 2025 at 10:21 AM
Well that is what they are gambling everything on but right now they have not even overcome the constitutional blocks on staying in power forever. It was noted how fast Trump was moving compared to most nascent dictatorships but right now it looks like they both moved too fast and fell short.
December 23, 2025 at 9:12 AM
To be fair, at this point a US frigate would be something, given they have even managed to screw up copying the FREMM.
December 22, 2025 at 10:58 PM
I am beginning to think we have been promised Oreshniks more times than self-driving Teslas or robot housemaids. I am still waiting for mine, is it in the mail dear Bunker Grandpa?

Someone remind Salvini Türkiye exists, the Russians tried conquering them for centuries. Finland exists, they had to throw off Russian tyranny. Poland exists, they had to win free of the Russians twice. The Ukrainians actually understand history, they know they can win.
December 16, 2025 at 10:10 AM
Well that would look good on Trump but what would the late Prez be wearing?
December 15, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Dear glorious Prez. When did you first realise you could be successful by performing as Enron cosplaying as the Soviet Union? Are there any other tips for aspiring dictators of failed states?
December 11, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Weirdly in Russia in World War 1 food rationing was only brought in after they had collapsed. It was brought in by the Bolsheviks who went on to win the Civil War but lost control of several chunks of the Russian Empire, Pootin is looking to claw back. .
December 10, 2025 at 10:01 AM
That metric looks even worse when you recall that a lot of the rest of the male population are either too old or too sick to fight, vital workers or Moscow elites.
December 10, 2025 at 8:46 AM
Well good. Imagine a China smart enough to realise swapping Russia to the US for the functional countries of Europe was a bargain? Imagine how much more of a danger to future freedom that would be?
December 8, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Enjoyed this as it more solution minded than too many videos on the subject. The Russians will attack, look at Napoleon, Hitler, Tojo Hideki etc when authoritarians war plan A fails they often look for someone as strong or stronger to have a fight with. We need to be ready, it will lower the cost
December 4, 2025 at 3:47 PM
A double beast of a man, it is official!
December 2, 2025 at 8:22 AM
I get it, you are angry, you emigrated to the one country that has actually surrendered to Russia. You know the solution? Join those demonstrating against Trump and campaigning for new elected leaders to stand up to him in Congress. Stop spreading Russian propaganda.
December 1, 2025 at 8:26 AM
This is the problem with the narrative the US media is spinning. At the current rate of advance, Pootin needs another 4 years just to reach the borders of Donbas. Even if Trump refused to sell any more weapons (his usual screw American jobs) and stopped intel Ukraine would still see out his term.
