Looking back maybe what I want is less of a HD-2D and more of a Mario RPG-style remake

I don't know if the HD version ever patched some of the visual bugs that were present at launch. Nothing that killed the experience for me but I remember some item animations being weirdly broken

(just imo from playing the game so many times over the years in each incarnation)

Stuff like the battle backgrounds are a blurry mess, especially some of the later game arenas, whether HD or original. Spell and Item effects are also a bit hit-or-miss, with some of them not looking great in either

This is one of those games I desperately wish would get an HD-2D remake like Live-A-Live or the new DQ collection

Makes sense. It's too bad but it's more or less to be expected especially with the shift to largely digital games.

I'm doing that right now in FFX. Started a 100% playthru about a week and a half ago, currently at Zanarkand with every treasure collected and minigame complete that I can so far

It was so satisfying beating Seymore Flux when he was an impassable wall as a kid

Then they dug out Marathon's corpse all these years later just to make **extra** sure anything interesting about Halo 1's lore is dead and buried.

They got incredibly lucky with the PS4 generation imo. Speaking as someone who was internal back in 2014 they had really bad management issues even at that time.

We're just in PS3 era Sony again, minus the Cell Processor
